Today, systems increasingly:
- Execute faster than anyone can review
- Act at scales humans cannot reason about
- Produce explanations that cannot be falsified
And yet humans are:
- "In the loop" only after execution
- Asked to justify decisions they did not make
- Unable to contradict the system meaningfully
This asymmetry isn't new in principle — but it has never existed at this scale. When the system moves faster than oversight, accountability becomes theater.
